We believe that taking advice from us could make a significant difference to an investment portfolio.
We take pride in spending quality time with clients at face-to-face meetings to explain in plain English our investment philosophy and to outline the strategy to achieve your goals.
We create your portfolio after carefully listening to you, to establish your financial needs, tax position and timeframes. Most importantly we use our risk profiling process to establish your attitude towards investment risk and the portfolio implemented is matched to your risk tolerance.
Mattioli Woods Financial Planning offers its own in-house risk-based investment portfolios that fall into three categories – Defensive, Cautious and Balanced. This service has been in place for a number of years and our clients tell us that they like it because it’s simple to understand and they feel in control.
Our investment portfolios are designed to provide reliable performance over different economic and market environments by diversification of investment classes, sectors, regions and fund managers. This is known as ‘strategic asset allocation’ and it is the art of assigning your capital to different investments that complement each other, to allow you to get the most out of the potential returns on offer.
How will this work in practice?
The selected investment portfolio assets are held on an electronic dealing platform, so that any changes required to the portfolios are fast and efficient. Our role is to select the appropriate investments, to both control the risk and to aim to meet the portfolio objectives. We regularly rebalance the portfolios to keep risk under control.
Will I lose control of how my investments are managed?
No. You will receive written recommendations and be required to sign for any changes to be made to your portfolios.
What if I have purchased a “growth” portfolio and now I need income?
The model portfolios are designed to be flexible enough to adapt to your changing financial circumstances.
How much will it cost?
We believe that the best approach for charging for our services is to ensure that it is both clear and transparent and that in all circumstances, we can deliver excellent value for money. This can only be achieved by charging fees. Any commissions or payments arising from all third party sources are credited to your portfolio in full. Wealth management fees are as follows:-
Implementation fee: 1% of the investment amount
Annual fee: 1% reducing to 0.75% on assets over £500,000
